Scraps...

Honestly, I somehow feel that Scrap has got a lot of support from each booster pack, but we have never seen any scrap-based decks among the top deck in the YCS competition. What's actually wrong? The answer is because of the other deck. As we know, Gravekeeper deck is much easier to be played than Scrap; also, an early Necrovalley can shut this deck down (start from Scrap Chimera, Scrap Orthos, and many more).

Despite of that, I am interested by Reborn Tengu, a newly released card fom EXCV (TCG Excl card). To be honest, I really admit this card "powerfulness". Having a high attack and self-replacement ability, this card is a better version of Destiny Hero - Malicious who requires to reach graveyard first in order to release his brutality. In addition, Reborn Tengu is a good bait for your Scrap Dragon. Why? The answer is obviously Tengu's self replacement ability.

Now, the only problem that we have to think carefully is Necrovalley. Since we can only get rid of that card by relying only on 2 MST's and one Giant Trunade, we have to add some extra cards that can be used to stop an early Necrovalley. Remember, a GK deck usually has 5 Necrovalley for its first turn (3 GK Commandants and 2 Necrovalleys itself).

A Scrap deck usually runs a lot of monster to be dumped to graveyard, and most likely it runs monsters that have advantages in graveyard too (Dandylion, Junk Warrior, Doppelwarrior, etc). Thus, we have to consider what Spell/Trap cards that can be used in order to block Necrovalley.

Here is an example for standard version of Tengu Scraps:
P.S. This deck is actually based on Tengu Scraps Deck created by Mr. DSummon from duelingdays.blogspot.com. I somehow feel that his Tengu Scrap theme deck is pretty awesome. Despite of that, I give some additional changes for this deck in order to be a little bit cheaper.

MONSTERS: (18)
3x Scrap Chimera
2x Scrap Orthos
1x Scrap Beast
1x Scrap Goblin

3x Reborn Tengu
1x Gorz the Emissary of Darkness
2x Effect Veiler

2x Card Trooper
1x Debris Dragon
1x Glow Up Bulb
1x Dandylion

SPELLS: (14)
3x Scrapyard
2x Scrapstorm
2x Mysctical Space Typhoon
1x Giant Trunade
1x Monster Reborn
1x Dark Hole
1x Book of Moon
1x Mind Control
1x Foolish Burial
1x Monster Gate

TRAPS: (8)
2x Seven Tools of the Bandit
2x Bottomless Traphole
1x Solemn Judgment
1x Torrential Tribute
1x Mind Crush
1x Trap Dustshoot

As a scrap player, we should have known that whenever your Scrap Dragon is hit by Solemn Warning, Solemn Judgment, Bottomless Traphole, or even Royal Oppression, we still CAN active its effect to take one scrap monster from graveyard.

I don't like to use Lightsworn cards in this deck since it will consume at least 4 slots in your deck (2 Lyla, a Ryko, and a Charge of the Light Brigade). I decide to replace them by using 2 Card Troopers, a Debris Dragon, and a Dandylion. Card Trooper can be used to stall and waste your opponent's card (if they use Hand of the Six Samurai or Gravekeeper's Descendant). In addition, Card Trooper is good target for your Debris Dragon to summon Black Rose Dragon (once again, another way to destroy Necrovalley). Dandylion and Glow Up Bulb are cool targets to be dumped in addition of your Scraps.

MONSTERS:
I decide to run Breaker the Magical Warrior just like what Mr. DSummon has picked on his deck. Breaker works better among other Spell/Trap destroyer such as Twister and Dust Tornado to overcome an early Necrovalley. Dust Tornado is good, but it is too slow since we get to set it first before we can active it. Then, Twister is really conditional since it can only hit a face up card. In addition of that, we can use Breaker to destroy other Spell/Trap cards such as Dimensional Prison, Mirror Force, or other unchainable Traps. Interestingly, we can also use Breaker to push opponents to use Solemn Warning and Bottomless Traphole. That's not the end, we still get an extra advantage. Yes, we can synchro summon Arcanite Magician (via Scrap Goblin) to destroy even more cards on the field. So, how do you think to include 2 Breaker the Magical Warriors in your main deck?

Scrap Orthros is used as a substitution for your Scrap Beast. If you want a budget friendly version, you can use 2 Scrap Beasts and a Scrap Orthros. Basically, Orthros is faster than any Scrap monsters I have ever found. Consider this example, you have an Orthros in your hand and a Scrap Dragon in your field. You can push your opponent simply by special summoning Orthros, then self-destruct it, afterwards grab a Scrap Chimera from your graveyard. Finally, you can make another Scrap Dragon in your field which is really irritating for your opponent.

SPELLS:
It is a standard built for a typical Scrap deck. Nothing needs to be explained. All are common and obvious.

TRAPS:
I don't want to use any Solemn Warning. Though that card is powerful, I think Seven Tools is more flexible. Why? Seven Tools of the Bandit can be chain to other trap cards that can harm your big play. In addition of that, it can also be so surprising. Consider this example: you have a Scrap Chimera and are ready to synchro summon Scrap Dragon. You may probably guess that your opponent may have set something that can ruin your strategy (Bottomless Trap Hole, Solemn Warning, or Solemn Judgment). If you run Trap Stun, for instance, your opponent will notice that this is the beginning of your big play. Thus, they become aware about your threat. However, if you decide to use Seven Tools of the Bandit, they may be less aware since Seven Tools will become a surprise.

What is more, Seven Tools also works better than Solemn Warning. Though Solemn Warning is really powerful, you may think that Seven Tools is better. For instance, you want to summon a monster. If you have a set Seven Tools, you will feel more save compared to a set Solemn Warning. In addition of that, Seven Tools of the Bandit can be used to overcome your opponent's Gladiator Beast War Chariot. Remember, GB War Chariot can be a pain in this deck, especially if your opponent recycle it by using Equeste. Thus, Seven Tools works better than Solemn Warning in this context (you also just have to pay 1000 LP instead of 2000 LP). Moreover, Seven Tools is also cheaper than Solemn Warning. (You can get 4-5 Scrap Dragons if you don't use 2 Solemn Warnings)
