Gadgets! We are Back!
Hi, I am a new writer in this blog. You can call me Mr. Capcus. Now, I am responsible for making articles related with simple deck building, how to counter notorious cards, and some articles that can make you laugh. However, I can't guarantee that I can post the articles regularly each week. Otherwise, I can at least post an article each 2 weeks or a month. Thus, I hope you will be able to enjoy my articles.
In this first article, I would like to talk about my favorite deck. Yes, it is Gadget Stun deck (not Machina Gadget). Gadgets seem to get a hard time in this ban list because Cyber Dragon is no longer on the list, and Royal Oppression is limited into a copy per deck.
Despite of that problem, Gadget deck is also awarded with some supports in order to speed their pace up. Cards such as Warning, Duality, and even Psi-Blocker can be utilized in this deck. The first two cards seem to be well known for gadget players because of its fame, but have you ever imagine that Psi-Blocker also wields a great potential to lock your opponents? Many players underrate Psi-blocker because of its attack. Despite of that, its effect is actually awesome. It can help you to lock your opponents key card until the end of their turn. Another good things is that the effect is still continuous even though Psi-Blocker is no longer on your field. Remember, most decks have their own key cards. Blocking it will force your opponents to think another way to get rid of Psi-Blocker. Additionally, this card can also help you to deteriorate your opponents' combo.
This is an example of Psi-Gadget which utilizes the effect of Psi-Blocker.
MONSTERS (17)
6x Gadgets
2-3x Thunder King Rai Oh -> prevent your opponent from adding more cards and performing synchro summon
3x Cyber Dragon -> massive attack power that can be easily summoned + force your opponent to waste BTH and Warning (Please be careful with this card. Some player often leaves this card with another face up gadget)
3x Psi-Blocker -> block your opponent's key card; the main character of this deck obviously
1x Blackwing Gale the Whirldwind -> Tuner, level 3, but has 2600 atk pts
1x Gorz the Emissary of Darkness -> OTK blocker, massive attack + token
SPELLS (14)
3x Smashing Ground -> Monster removal
3x Book of Moon -> prevent synchro summon
3x Enemy Controller -> switch your opponent's monster battle position
2x Mystical Space Typhoon -> destroy skill drain
1x Limiter Removal -> finisher
1x Monster Reborn -> additional tuner
1x Dark Hole
TRAPS (9)
2x Bottomless Traphole
2x Solemn Warning -> use this card only to negate synchro summon or "boss" card; however, you can also use this card to gain field control as long as you are sure enough that you can maintain your field advantage
1x Solemn Judgment -> actually you can replace this card with other card
1x Royal Oppression -> anti special summon card
1x Mirror Force
1x Torrential Tribute
Suggested Extra Deck:
1x Karakurei Shogun mdl 00 Burei -> its ability to switch battle position is awesome
1x Blackwing Armor Master -> just an awesome card
1x Black Rose Dragon -> Field wiper
It's also possible for you to combine with Machina cards. For additional cards, I don't agree with Doomcaliber Knight because of its reactivity, and sometimes, it's also possible it can be a dead card because you are controlling Psi-Blocker on your field.
I decide to run Enemy Control over Dimensional Prison because it is chainable and immune to Royal Decree/Trap Stun. In addition, Enemy Control can be used to switch your opponent's weak defense position monster to attack position (such as Dandy+its tokens, Darksoul, etc). Don't forget to run this combo along with your Limiter Removal.
Besides locking your opponent's key cards, Psi-Blocker can also help you to get rid of threats such as Ryko, the Lightsworn Hunter, Chimeratech Fortress Dragon, Gorz or another OTK blocker.
Finally, Gadget deck is still playable. Just be careful when you are using Psi-Blocker because it is so fragile (low attack). Another possible combo is utilizing it with cards that allow you to check your opponent's hand such as Trap Dustshoot.

Yeah, I've been thinking of Psi-Blocker a lot, but I'm sure how it will go...
