Grand Tournament Report @ Bandung
On the 30th October 2010, I attended a Grand Tournament in Bandung, Indonesia, celebrating the 1st Anniversary of Team Florsheim (a YGO team I was also a member of). There were around 34-36 people attending, I forgot the exact number. I attended with a Gemini Hero, or popularly known as Light-Dual in OCG format, which I will post the decklist at the end of this article.
Here is my tournament report:
R1: VS Vandy Putrandika, Team Florsheim’s Top 3 (Scraps)
G1: He went first by setting four cards to his backrow along with a Set monster. I opened my turn with an MST, which hit his Royal Decree, thankfully. I summoned Raioh which rammed into a Gravekeeper’s Spy. On the next turn, he used Scrapyard to tune into Scrap Dragon, but I Book of Moon’ed his Beast and killed it on the next turn. I kinda forgot the rest, but what I remembered is that I managed to break all of his 3 Decrees, 1 with MST, 2 with G-Sparks. In the end, I won with a field of Neos Alius (all Honest & G-Spark have been used up) backed with an Effect Veiler in my hand.
G2: I don’t remember much about this game, but his Decree kinda shut me down for a while. When I was able to take it out, it was too late to regain control of the game, Lose.
G3: It was a pretty long game. I was already aware that he Set his Decree on his first turn (after my turn, I went first), but I already had Solemn Judgment behind me. He gave up some of his monsters to Dimensional Prison, maybe he was holding back his Decree for the finishing move. I also happened to ram into a Spy, which is very irritating. I forgot the chronology of the events, since we both had wasted around 5 turns doing nothing since I couldn’t kill his Spy and he couldn’t do much either. In the end, I won with Raioh on the field with Oppression face-up. His Decree has been lost to Solemn Judgment. In my hand were two Veilers, so it was pretty much a flawless victory.
R2: VS Andry (Machina-Ancient Gear)
G1: I have been pushed hardly even since the opening, with Machina Fortresses, Gearframe (I didn’t get 1st turn Raioh) and other things. I was pushed to the point I had only around 800 LP while he was still at much. But I managed to Reborn one of his Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon and began counter-attacking (I forgot how I got rid of the Fortress, but the point is it has been gone), but I lost to a Geartown-suiciding which summoned another Gadjiltron and kicked my Stratos for the game.
G2: OTK’ed. Smashing Ground --> Gearframe + 3 Fortress = GAME.
R3: VS Septiyan (Light-Dual)
G1: Here goes... the most boring mirror match in Yugioh, antimeta vs antimeta. During such mirror match between passive decks, not much can be done. Unfortunately, he brought Cyber Dragons and Barbaros-Drains to his Main Deck, causing me to have less beatdown power. Lost.
G2: It was a pretty long match, I forgot the game, Lost.
R4: VS I-forgot-the-name (Six Samurai)
G1: I went first and summoned a monster along with a few backrows. He opened with a Kamon. I instantly knew that he intended to Summon GMOSS, so I stopped him with a Solemn Warning. I don’t quite remember the rest, but I got a pretty good hand, Win.
G2: Doesn’t remember, Win.
The standings were then displayed. I was on the 16th rank of 34-36 people. To be honest, I was kinda disappointed, since I managed to top the last two tournaments with this deck. I didn’t get into the play-offs because in Indonesia, we have Top 8, not Top 16, lol.
However, my prize of DREV booster pack was actually very good! I got Fabled Raven from it, totally not a bad deal. I also received a GB Heraklinos for the side prize.
Well then, that’s from me. And for what I promised, this is my decklist.

Unlimited samurai works
After thinking for awhile how to utilize mizuho and shinai,I found a way to clean your opponent's field in an instant
however it requires a little bit preparation before hand but with the latest support we got for six sam, this combo will do in 3 or 4 turns if you do it right :D
First, you only need to get hand,1 mizuho(and another one in the graveyard) and 2 shinai on the field(really easy lto get since we got shien's smoke signal and shinai is a level 3 six samurai monster which is can be added from the deck)
while mizuho can be special summoned with asceticism of the six by targeting hand and special summon mizuho from your deck.
Now for the combo part :D
First, this loop not for FTK since you can't destroy anything (but with mass driver, you can do FTK with only 2 mizuho and 1 shinai along with 1 gateway,if you do the algorithm correctly-will be posted after this one )
so basically you only need to get hand,gate,2 mizuho and 2 shinai on the field
this kind of field can be formed by many hand combination.
for example :
1 hand/1 RoTA,3 smoke signal/2 mizuho 1 shinai/1 mizuho 2 shinai/2 gate/1 gate 1 foolish/1 gate 1 asceticism
Any kind of combination above will provide you the right field presence thus giving you unlimited ammo to destroy your opponent's field.
even with 3 smoke signal 1 gate 1 asceticism and 1 RoTA(yes, all spell cards) you could have this kind of field:
1 hand,2 mizuho,2 shinai,and a gate with 10 bushido counters.
For the OTK part,simply get 2 mizuho,2 shinai,1 mass driver,and 1 or 2 gate(better with 2 gate)
again 2 mizuho and 2 shinai can be added to hand by using either smoke signal and RoTA.
simply put gate and mass driver, normal summon mizuho(2 counters),sp summon shinai(4 counters) and sp summon another mizuho(6 counters).
Tribute mizuho 1,then shinai, add mizuho to the hand, remove 4 counters add shinai,sp summon shinai(4 counters again),sp summon mizuho(6 counters again) and do the job.
this combo above only use 1 gate only.
That's all for today, happy Sunday guys!

The supporters
First we got "Shien's yoriko".
*/Warrior/Earth
Tuner/Effect/300/700
"When a "Six Samurai" monster you control battles, you can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard during damage calculation. That monster cannot be destroyed by battle during this turn."
A younger version of "Shien's footsoldier".Not too good since being a level 1 monster.
But its ability to discard itself and prevent one of your "Six Samurai" monster be destroyed by battle that turn is quite good. Also being a tuner can be a good treat.
Next we got "True Six Samurai-Shien".
*****/Warrior/Dark
Synchro/Effect/2500/1400
"1 Warrior-Type Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner "Six Samurai" monsters
Once per turn, when your opponent activates aSpell/Trap Card, you can negate the activation of that card and destroy it. If this face-up card would be destroyed, you can destroy another "Six Samurai" monster you control instead."
The synchro counterpart and a younger version of "Great Shogun Shien".Bear the same ATK power and similar effects makes this card powerful enough to negate one of your opponent's spell/trap card.
This card can be easily synchro summoned by using "True Six Samurai-Kageki" + "True Six Samurai-Kagemusha".And even possible to bring a Lockdown if you have a "Great Shogun Shien" in your hand. Because both "True Six Samurai-Kageki" and "True Six Samurai-Kagemusha" are "Six Samurai" monster, you could special summon "Great Shogun Shien" first then tuned into "True Six Samurai Shien",and giving you 2 2500 attacker plus a spell/trap lockdown!
The others are spell and trap cards, and we got 4 of them!
The first one is "Shien's smoke signal".
"Add 1 Level 3 or lower "Six Samurai" monster from your Deck to your hand."
A weaker version of RotA for "Six Samurai" only since you only can add a level 3 or lower "Six Samurai" monster from your deck. But this is enough for you to set up the combo for summoning "True Six Samurai Shien"!
Next we got "Asceticism of the Six Samurai"!
"Select 1 face-up "Six Samurai" monster you control. Special Summon 1 "Six Samurai" monster with a different name and an equal ATK from your Deck. During this turn's End Phase, destroythe selected monster."
A new support for the "Six Samurai" archetype! It's effect allows us to select one "Six Samurai" we control and special summon 1 "Six Samurai" from your deck that has the same ATK with the one we select, but different name.Basically good enough to get cards like "True Six Samurai-Kizan" or "True Six Samurai-Enishi" on the field, and giving you more counters for "Gateway of the Six" and "Six Samurai United".
Third we have "Musakani no Magatama".
"Activate only if you control a face-up "Six Samurai" monster. Negate the activation of an opponent's Spell Card, Trap Card or Effect Monster's effect that would destroy a card(s), and destroy it."
Being a counter trap means that this card only can be negated by other counter trap! This card can negate card effect(monster/spell/trap) that destroy card(s) on your side of the field when you control a "Six Samurai" monster! This way you could prevent your precious card from destruction such as "Gateway of the Six" or even "Solemn Warning"!
The last one is "Residence of the Six".
"Each time a "Six Samurai" monster is Normal orSpecial Summoned, place 1 Bushido Counter on this card. Face-up monsters your opponent controls lose 100 ATK for each Bushido Counteron this card."
Basically not a really good card since it is a field card which seldom to be used by a "Six Samurai" player, but by using the effect of "Gateway of the Six" you can even get bushido counters from this card!.Each time you summon a "Six Samurai" monster, this card gain 1 "bushido counter".For every "bushido counter" on this card, every monster on your opponents field lose 100 ATK points and also providing you with more bushido counters!
And that's all for the review.Sorry for the late wave of review since I got so many assignment lately but I'll keep on improving this blog!
Oh!And we got a new writer here and he's the one who wrote about Mizuho and Shinai.
Welcome,Tri-Edge!
